This week I am completely changing tack. Rather than focus, as the blog normally does, on one key trend or issue that impacts the global travel retail industry, I am using the space instead to devote to some thoughts I believe are worth airing.
Certainly being in self-isolation now for 17 days gives you plenty of thinking time – especially as most of the video projects that were scheduled for me to produce have been postponed or cancelled. But they will come back and, as surely as day follows night, and in spite of the constraints that this business and many others are undergoing, all will re-emerge fitter, stronger and better after we see the back of Covid-19.
Yet the industry will also morph into something different, as indeed it needs to, and that is what is at the heart of this week’s blog.
